Abstract
The aims of this article are twofold. One is to show that numerical software may be implemented using object-oriented methods, and the other is to show that Fortran 90 provides a sufficient platform to achieve this. It is not to claim that Fortran 90 is an object oriented programming language --- there are major areas which are in no way supported by Fortran 90.
