Abstract
The stress‐dependent part Kλu of the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy constant Ku in epitaxial ferrimagnetic garnet films can be tailored in a wide range to the desired magnitude by slight substitution of ruthenium ions, which affect Ku via the magnetostriction constant λ111. For Gd2.7Yb0.3Fe4.8−xRuxAl0.2012 this quantity Kλu is varied in the range 0⩽Kλu≲2300 erg cm−3 where 0⩽x≲0.02. Thereby, other technical constraints determining the chemical composition of such films can be kept practically unchanged. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
