Abstract
Detailed directions are given for the cultivation in 15 liter quantities of hemolytic streptococcus (Streptococcus pyogenes) in a medium of essentially defined composition. Strains C203S, 1048M, NY#5 and 594 gave yields in carboy-lots of 1 to 2 gm. dry wt. of bacteria per liter of medium, with correspondingly high titers of hemolysin and scarlet-fever toxin. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
