Abstract
Knudsen, N. T. 1978. Drainage of an ice-dammed lake, Okstindan, Nordland, Norway. Norsk geogr. Tidsskr. Vol. 32, pp. 55–61. Oslo. ISSN 0029-1951. Conditions during the drainage of an ice-dammed lake in Okstindan, Nordland, Norway are described. The observations in 1976 are discussed and compared with observations during other jökulhlaups. The drainage mechanism of this particular lake is discussed, and it is suggested that a period of cold weather, causing a pressure drop in the glacier's internal drainage system, released the hlaup. Keywords
