Abstract
A case of cryptococcus meningitis treated with amphotericin B is reported. On admission the patient presented a typical picture of meningitis and also showed signs of aortic regurgitation. Blood cultures were sterile, but the spinal fluid cultures were positive for C. neoformans. The patient was treated at first with amphotericin orally without any response. Following intravenous administration of the drug, there was progressive clinical improvement and the spinal fluid cultures became sterile. Keywords
