Abstract
We present experimental results of time-resolved fluorescence from dye molecules dissolved in a nematic liquid crystal. The dye is the 4,5-diamino 2,7-diisopentyl anthraquinone (AQ2) and the nematic host is the BDH mixture E63. The measurement results are analyzed by means of a new phenomenological model, general enough to describe any experimental geometry. Keywords
