Abstract
Data are presented from four sand culture and one water culture trial. Subterranean clover plants growing on a soil low in zinc showed increased severity of zinc deficiency symptoms when the nitrogen supply was increased. This effect was produced by applications of NaNOs, L-asparagine, NH4NOa, and (NH4)2S04. It was not due to changes in soil pH, nor to increased growth demand arising from applied nitrogen.
