Abstract
The problem of a triplet electronic state undergoing a Jahn-Teller effect from a vibrational triplet is treated in the case where a trigonal deformation is added. The consequences of this deformation are the splitting of the electronic triplet, the appearance of two distinct vibrational frequencies and the anisotropy of the Jahn-Teller coupling. A direct diagonalisation model is used for weak or medium Jahn-Teller effect, when an adiabatic procedure allows the calculation of the asymptotic values. A few particular cases are discussed.
