Abstract
The effect of the finite mass of the nucleus on the Zeeman pattern of multi-electron atoms is investigated. This effect consists of two parts, one due to the motion of the core and nucleus about the center of mass, the other an exchange phenomenon between the electrons themselves. Both are of order , where is the mass of the nucleus.
