Abstract
When cells of S. coelicolor are grown in a medium containing glucose uniformly labeled with C14, addition of 0.033 [image] glucose or pyruvate does not appreciably suppress endogenous CO2 production, as judged by the total radioactivity of respired CO2. Consequently, in manometric expts. with exogenous substrate of 0.033 [image] concn., the subtraction of endogenous values is permissible. Keywords
