RADIOISOTOPIC EVALUATION OF RENAL ALLOGRAFTS WITH THE DIGITAL AUTOFLUOROSCOPE

Abstract
SUMMARY The digital autofluoroscope has been used for 131I-Hippuran renograms and for 99mTepertechnetate and 113mIn ion perfusion studies in 25 patients following renal allografting. Computer-assisted quantitation of the renogram has revealed an excellent correlation of the concentration phase of the renogram with renal function as measured by creatinine clearance. In the perfusion studies, the mean transit time of 113mIn ion was found to be a useful index of renal function. The use of the data obtained from the digital autofluoroscope was of value in the differential diagnosis of transplant nonfunction and was especially useful in the serial followup of patients after renal allotransplantation.
