Abstract
Three small genotype X environment experiments were conducted on a random sample of poroporo (Solanum aviculare) lines taken from natural habitats, to evaluate their performance under commercial conditions. Considerable genotype X environment interaction was noted for the 3 characters measured: dry matter yield, solasodine yield, and solasodine percentage. Because of the large genotype X environment interaction observed in these trials, care should be taken in any interpretation of single location and single season results. Keywords
