Abstract
Several chronic disorders of small bowel function have been associated with enteric hyperoxaluria. We report on a patient in whom enteric hyperoxaluria and recurrent calcium oxalate calculi developed during treatment with temporary external biliary drainage for sclerosing cholangitis. The hyperoxaluria subsequently resolved with reestablishment of intraluminal biliary flow at successful liver transplantation. We propose a mechanism for this previously unrecognized cause of hyperoxaluria. Keywords
