Abstract
With a Wheatstone bridge and a proportional controller, a linear heating system has been developed. The heating power is controlled in full. The heating rate can be varied between 5 and 80 degC min-1. It can be used for any range of temperatures with very simple changes; the one presented here operates between 0 and 400 degrees C. This controller can also be used to keep the furnace temperature constant. By using nonlinear potentiometers, different heating functions can be obtained. Keywords
