Abstract
Protection systems are normally considered to be perfectly reliable in composite system adequacy assessment. The effect on the calculated adequacy indices of neglecting these events can be quite significant in highly redundant configurations. This paper examines some protection system models and incorporates the results in a practical application of cmxposite systemtadequacy assessment. Keywords
