Abstract
Specific adrenergic antagonists and oral dopamine analogues offer a new approach to long-term management of patients with heart failure, but their safety and efficacy as chronic therapy remain to be established. By improving the hemodynamic status of these patients, we may improve their quality of life. The ultimate question is whether we are prolonging survival. Keywords
