Abstract
Groves D. L. and Kahalas H. (1976) Recreational expectations, Reg. Studies 10, 193–200. A case study was undertaken (1) to develop or isolate a system to measure expectations of the local user and general populations in State College, Pennsylvania, toward a specific recreation area, Game Lands 176, and (2) to examine from different perspectives the demographic and attitudinal type variables that are related to expectations. With such a design, it was possible to identify underlying elements and how they change as a situation shifts. Results indicate that needs are a common element associated with expectations. Keywords
