Abstract
A case is reported in which the patient underwent ligation of the common carotid artery as treatment for a ruptured intracranial aneurysm. Nine years later a 2nd subarachnoid hemorrhage occurred from a new or previously undemonstrated intracranial aneurysm. Recannulation of the ligated carotid artery was demonstrated by arteriography. Similar cases are cited from the literature. This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
