Abstract
The shear mechanical relaxation has been studied of a monomolecular film at the air/water interface while it was being polymerized by irradiating UV light. The mixture of monomer and linear-chain polymer thus formed showed a diverging shear relaxation time τ which varies as τ∼t2.6ir as a function of the irradiation time tir. Keywords
