Abstract
In a cocoa trial of 18 progenies and two clones there was a close association between the time of the year when the trees cropped and the overall losses from black pod disease (Phytophthora palmivora). Much of the variation in the time of cropping can be explained in terms of compatibility relationships. Two genotypes deviated markedly from the regression of level of pod disease on time of cropping, which may be evidence that they resist, rather than avoid, infection. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
