Abstract
A review of the literature covering the history and present theories of voice production. The myoelastic-aerodynamic theory satisfies all known phenomena of voice production. Thus far there is no experimental evidence for the neuro-chronaxis theory and it is unable to explain a large number of phenomena. Keywords
