Age Effect on Insulin Action in Rat Adipose Tissue

Abstract

In a study on thirty-seven Wistar rats the effect of Crystalline Insulin in a concentration of 0.1 units per milliliter of incubation medium on glucose uptake by both epididymal and perinephric isolated rat adipose tissue has been found to decrease with the age of the rat. This is a very little difference in the pattern shown by samples of epididymal or perinephric fat.
