Abstract
A technique for merging multichannel signals in order to improve greatly the time resolution of the output signals recorded by a multichannel signal averager is described. The determination of the input signal frequency for optimum merging effect is emphasized. A dual‐disk time‐of‐flight argon signal extracted from an arc heated argon‐helium beam is presented as an example; signal merging improved the time resolution from 39 μsec to from 5 to 7 μsec. Keywords
