Abstract
SUMMARY: 1. Insulin, administered by either the subcutaneous or intravaginal route, significantly increases the response of ovariectomized mice to oestrone. 2. Phloridzin, administered similarly, significantly decreases the vaginal response to oestrone. 3. None of the treatments adopted produced any significant change in variability of response. 4. The significance of these results is discussed in relation to the local action of oestrogens on the vaginal epithelium. Keywords
