Abstract

The new compounds Sr₂Bi, Ba₂Sb, Sr₅Bi₃, Ba₅Sb₃ and Ba₅Bi₃ were prepared and their structures determined. The A₂B-compounds crystallize tetragonal bodycentered and are isotypic to Ca₂Sb, Ca₂Bi and Sr₂Sb. The A₅B₃-compounds build up the Mn₅Si₃-structure type. In both structures the element (V) atoms are coordinated only to earth alkali atoms.
