Abstract
More comprehensive behavior analyses of organizational interventions should lead to better prediction and control of organizational behavior. Better analyses require the adoption of more extensive behavioral concepts into organizational behavior management (OBM) research and practice. The purpose of this paper is to discuss such a concept: the establishing operation (Michael, 1982). A definition of the establishing operation is presented followed by three examples. Keywords
