Abstract
In a search for chronic toxoplasmosis, suspensions of the brain, liver, lung and spleen of 23 dogs and 10 cats were inoculated intraperitoneally into white mice immediately after the pet was sacrificed. The mouse tissues were repassaged through tissues for possible infection. The brain of one dog was found to harbor the parasite. Tissues from the heart, liver, spleen and brain from the postmortem examination of 30 patients were treated in the same manner and no evidence for infection was obtained.
