COLLIER'S SYNDROME (ORBITAL PERIOSTITIS)

Abstract
A middle‐aged Chinese man with Collier's syndrome is described. Collier's syndrome (orbital periostitis or fibrositis) consists of unilateral orbital pain, slight proptosis, tenderness over the eyeball and paralysis of the sixth, fourth and third cranial nerves and the first and second divisions of the sensory component of the fifth cranial nerve. It is a rare condition, and the aetiology is unknown. Recovery is usual.
