Abstract
The results of various workers showing a greater activity of the K salt of indole(3)acetic acid in comparsion with that of the free acid were checked. In several expts. it was found that the 3 substances indole(3)acetic acid, K indole(3)acetate, and Na indole(3)-acetate possessed similar activities when their equimolar solutions, buffered at the same pH, were given in the Avena test. In unbuffered solns. the activities of the salts were lower than that of the free acid. These observations were in accord with theoretical considerations. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
