Abstract
We describe an atom chip based on periodically magnetised videotape. Cold atoms are loaded into one of the microscopic magnetic traps formed by the videotape atom chip. Using forced evaporation we have produced a 87Rb Bose–Einstein condensate in a permanent-magnet microtrap. Keywords
