Abstract
Acanthocephala belonging to the family Neoechinorhynchidae were found in mullets, Mugil cephalus, caught in Biscayne Bay off Miami, Fla. They represent a new genus, FLORIDOSENTIS , which is characterized by a cylindrical to club-shaped proboscis with 8 diagonally longitudinal rows of about 7 hooks each. The genotype, F. elongatus, is descr. and figured.
