Electron spin relaxation and Fourier transform nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy of manganese(II) complexes with biomacromolecules

Abstract
The X-band e.s.r. spectra of manganese(II) complexes with nucleobases, nucleotides, nucleosides and DNA have been examined at different pH values. The lineshape has been analysed on the basis of electron spin relaxation theory. E.s.r. experimental results are discussed in terms of the rotational model, emphasising the relevance of the phosphate binding site. FT-n.m.r. results have been also analysed showing the relevance of N(7) as a metal binding site.
