Abstract
Plasma computer simulation in two dimensions shows that there are three different regions for plasma diffusion across a magnetic field. These regions may be called collisional or classical, intermediate, and Bohm diffusions. In the intermediate region, which lies between the collisional and Bohm regions, the diffusion coefficient is essentially independent of the magnetic field. We believe that diffusion in the intermediate and the Bohm regions is caused by thermally excited convective motions. Keywords
