Abstract
The history, clinical findings, and postmortem exainination of a patient with Kearns‐Sayre syndrome are presented. In addition to the usual symptoms, the patient also had hypoparathyroidism. There is increasing evidence that the syndrome is frequently associated with involvement of the endocrine system. Central nervous system involvement consists of a spongy encephalopathy. Keywords
