Abstract
We report glancing-incidence x-ray scattering studies of the magnetic structure observed near the (001) surface of the antiferromagnet U. Within about 50 Å of the surface, the magnetic scattering intensity decreases continuously as the bulk Néel temperature is approached from below. This contrasts with the bulk transition, which is discontinuous.
