Abstract
The spectra of many complexes of Fe3+ have been reported in literature. The absorption, in thin films5 of ferric oxide has also been studied. The diffuse reflectance spectrum of pure ferric oxide powder down to only 300 mμ has been published by Vratny and Kokalas6 but the bands were neither well marked nor interpreted. No such studies below 300 mμ have been reported. The present communication extends the region of study of the diffuse reflectance spectra of both pure and diluted samples of ferric oxide up to 200 mμ.Keywords
