Abstract
Previous studies of Wood (1953, 1960) and Mehringer et al (1958, 1961) have shown Triatoma protracta protracta (Uhler) to be a pest of man in Griffith Park Youth Camps. The bugs attack man under temperature stress and during absence of natural rodent hosts. Details of habitat are described by Mehringer & Wood (1958). During the summers of 1962 & 1963, the Boys' Camp (City Fire Dept. Map Areas 29 & 30) remained unoccupied except for caretaker Arthur L. Gladwill. Collections were made of Triatoma during 25 July-21 Aug. 1963 (Anderson) and continued to 14 Oct. by Gladwill who compiled most of the data. Keywords
