Abstract
Neutrons produced by the cosmic radiation at sea level in paraffin, aluminum, and lead have been measured in a boron-filled ionization chamber provided with boron guard rings. Proper application of the diffusion theory of slow neutrons was possible and absolute values of the rate of production of neutrons per gram per second were obtained. Keywords
