Abstract
In Hungary, an environmental dosimetry network has been in operation since 1982 at 123 sites covering the whole territory of the country. Integrating TLDs are displayed indoors and outdoors at these sites and replaced by postal service at montly intervals. Monthly averages of the dose rates and annual effective dose equivalents are calculated from the measurement results. Geographical and temporal variations as well as ratios of the indoor to outdoor dose rates have also been studied. The mean annual effective dose equivalent of the Hungarian population was estimated for the period of 1983-1985 and separately for 1986.
