Abstract
The effects of orally administered testosterone undecanoate (TU) on the pituitary responsiveness to the intravenous injection of 100 microgram of synthetic LH-RH were studied in 10 young healthy male subjects. They were given TU in a daily dose of 160 mg for 14 days. The LH-RH Test was performed before the medication, on day 14, and on the 7th day of the post-treatment phase. Pituitary responsiveness remained normal throughout the whole study. A somewhat lower response for LH was observed in the post-treatment phase, most probably attributable to the increased baseline plasma testosterone levels. Keywords
