Abstract
An improved microwave spectroscope has been used to determine the effect of O2, N2, CO2, and H2 in broadening the J=3→3 inversion line of ammonia. An accurate evaluation of the molecular quadrupole moments of these gases was obtained from the measured collision diameters of 4.32, 5.64, 7.45, and 3.28 A units, respectively. Keywords
