Abstract
The patient with neuropathy affecting the lower urinary tract may be at risk of renal impairment and of incontinence. Progress in recent years has helped both to define which patients may suffer renal damage, and to manage the lower urinary tract to prevent this. It is also possible now, in a number of different ways, to offer good quality of life to most patients regarding control and emptying of their bladder. The challenge is to ensure that the diversity of patients with neuropathic bladders are given treatment which is ideally suited to their needs and lifestyle. Although there have been no significant new developments in the past year, considerable new data have become available to aid our management of these patients and we review these. Keywords
