Abstract
Semi-empirical extended Huckel and CNDO approximations of the MO-LCAO theory have been used for theoretical interpretation of sulphur K beta X-ray emission from orthorhombic sulphur S8. The results of the calculations are compared with a new high resolution S K beta emission spectrum and with an S LII.III emission spectrum from the literature. The results for K emission are found to be in good agreement with experiment, but the LII.III emission needs still further study. Keywords
