Ionizing Gas Breakdown Waves in Strong Electric Fields

Abstract
An analysis of ionizing potential waves is made which includes photoionization. It is found that photoionization plays an important role in the avalanche propagation. Velocities, electron densities, and temperatures are given as a function of electric field for both negative and positive breakdown waves in nitrogen.This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
