Abstract
We have recorded the electrocardiogram of 351 male and female non-medicated Macaca mulatta , and established values for normal parameters. There were no sexual differences and no changes related to the weight of the animals within the range studied. A shortening of the electrical systole with increased rates was demonstrated. High and peaked P waves in leads II, III, and aVF were observed in 1/3 of the cases. Twenty-one animals showed changes in ventricular repolarization. Left or right bundle branch block has been recorded in 8 monkeys. In 25 cases, incomplete bundle branch block was probably present. Five monkeys exhibited ventricular premature contractions, leading on occasion to complex arrhythmias. Keywords
