Abstract

(OC)₅M-GeX₂ · THF and (OC)₅M-SnX₂ · THF are formed by the reactions of disodium decacarbonyl dimetallates of 6 b metals with the tetrahalides GeX₄ and SnX₄: Na₂[(OC)₅M^-I-M^-I(CO)₅] + EX₄[xxx](OC)₅M^-II-EX₂· THF [xxx] Na[M°(CO)₅X] (M = Cr, Mo, W; E = Ge, Sn; X = Cl, Br, I).
