Abstract
Metronidazole [1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole], previously thought to only inhibit obligately anaerobic bacteria, was found in vitro, to inhibit the growth of 15 facultatively anaerobic strains of Corynebacterium vaginale (Haemophilus vaginalis) using agar disk diffusion and broth dilution methods. Keywords
