BALANCE SHEET OF RECOVERED 15N-LABELLED UREA IN A POT TRIAL WITH PSEUDOTSUGA MENZIESII

Abstract
The distribution of urea-15N was studied in the soil, soil fauna, plant, atmospheric and leachate components of the pot-plant system as a preliminary step to more extensive field studies on the fate of urea fertilizer applied to Douglas fir ecosystems. The data on volatilization support the viewpoint that ammonia losses from application of urea fertilizers during wet conditions should be small.
