Diffuse Heterotopic Cystic Malformation of the Stomach

Abstract
IN 1947 Scott and Payne1 reported a unique case of diffuse thickening of the distal half of the gastric wall by multiple, small cysts of the mucosa and submucosa. This occurred in a fifty-eight-year-old man who had experienced anorexia and weight loss, and who was found to have achlorhydria and a roentgenographic filling defect in the antrum.We recently encountered similar involvement of the stomach in a fifty-four-year-old man, who also presented clinical findings simulating diffuse mucosal thickening by carcinoma or malignant lymphoma.Case ReportF.R., a 54-year-old man, was admitted to Walter Reed General Hospital in June, 1962, with . . .
