Effect of Timed Occlusions at Various Levels of Mesenteric Arteries and Veins: Correlative Study of Arteriographic and Histologic Patterns of Rat Gut

Abstract
The effects of the occlusions were studied arteriographically, grossly, and histologically, and comparisons were made between the arteriographic and histologic results. Rat survival was dependent upon the site, level, and duration of the vascular occlusion. Specimens of bowel that showed infarction histologically also revealed abnormalities in the small vessels on arteriography.
